Author Arthur Evans Passes Beyond the Veil

Arthur Evans, author of Witchcraft and the Gay Counterculture, died yesterday at the age of 69 in his apartment in the Height-Ashbury section of San Francisco.
Evans was well known for his work within the gay community, gay rights activism, research into spirituality and sexuality, and work with various AIDS foundations. Evans lived in New York before he moved to San Francisco in the 1970′s.
Educated as a classical scholar, he was known for his radical style, and his anti-war activism. He was a founding member of the Gay Activists Alliance, an original member of the Gay Liberation Front. and authored articles for the periodicals “Fag Hag” and “Gay Sunshine”.
