FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Interfaith Community Calls for Justice for Alan Blueford

Oakland, CA

September 7, 2012

Alan Blueford was killed by the Oakland Police Department last May, two weeks before his graduation from Skyline High School. His parents are reaching out to us for support in seeking justice for the killing of their son by Oakland Police officer, Miguel Masso.

The Interfaith Tent for Justice has organized a meeting with the Blueford family especially for the religious community on September 13 at the Oakland Peace Center, 111 Fairmount Ave at 7:00. P.M in the Fellowship Hall (off of 29th St).  The Bluefords want to tell their story and share what has been learned about what really happened the night of Alan’s murder.   Please attend this meeting and help this family through their devastating loss by showing your support of their pursuit of justice.  The meeting will include time for Q & A.

The Interfaith community will also hold march/vigil on Oct 16th organized by local spiritual leaders in an attempt to raise consciousness and put pressure on the District Attorney for an investigation. We call upon religious leaders to attend either the meeting and march and spread the word in their congregations and communities.
