SF BATS raises the bar again.
August 26, 2012 in Announcements, Events
For twenty-one years the Daughters of Divination have been hosting an event that is known through-out the world of divination as the must-go for any serious professional. Authors, gurus, creators, masters, and teachers of cartomancy from all walks of life come to celebrate, learn, and share the latest innovations and techniques that keep the art alive. This year’s event once again raises the bar and today it was announced that this will be it’s last year in San Francisco.
In their continued dedication to provide the best experience possible for their attendees a decision was reached that will move BATS from San Francisco to neighboring San Jose. In addition to it’s new location BATS will also be moving up a week. If you have been to Pantheacon you are more than familiar with BATS’ new home – the San Jose Double Tree.

Today a myriad of classes were offered as well as a divination-centric vendor room. Mary Greer – a prolific name in tarot – taught a class on the true history of the tarot, debunking common myths such as, “The tarot came from Egypt” and “Gypsies brought the cards to Europe.” Le Normand aficionado and designer Melissa Jo Hill graced BATS with cutting edge divination techniques and Tarot expert Gina Thies brought psychological method even closer to the cards. Tonight, a mixer for guests and teachers.
“My goal and everyone’s goal is to just have fun!” said founder Thalassa. A sentiment that was seen reflected in the faces of every eager volunteer. You don’t need to be a pro to hang with these masters- you just need to show up and get your ticket!
Sunday BATS will showcase teachers like Mary Greer, Mark Ryan, and Toni Gilbert. For ticket information and updates you can visit their website here.
