Tuatha Dea; Great Band, Pagan Sound

July 13, 2012 in Uncategorized

Tuatha Dea is a band out of Tennessee that is playing the Pagan circuit and bringing a new sound to the ears of Pagan music listeners.  The mix of tribal, blues, rock and celtic music comes from a band of friends and family members, recently playing Pagan Spirit Gathering in June.  Quickly gathering a following of listeners, Tuatha Dea started drumming together in 2009.

The bands Reverbnation page describes them as, “Tuatha Dea is pure primal energy with a Celtic twist. The bands eclectic sound blends the tribal vibe of primitive drums with conventional and non conventional instruments such as guitar, bass, modern and Native American flutes as well as a myriad of vocal styles to create a truly unique sound.”

For the bay area listener who might be looking for new and exciting Pagan influenced music, Tuatha Dea might just fit your style.  In addition to the links above, you can also find this band on their facebook page.

Blessed Goodbye to Dave Grega at Age 27

July 11, 2012 in Uncategorized

David Grega, co-host of Pagan Centered Podcast and of the Texas Bureau of Pagan Newswire Collective (Lonestar Pagan) passed from sudden cardiac arrest this week.  Word hit the internet yesterday of his passing.  Grega was known for his notorious laugh and his go for it attitude on the PCP show, while also being known for his dedication and desire to serve the Pagan community.

Jason Pitzl-Waters of the Wild Hunt Blog states, “Dave was a key figure in Pagan new media, constantly tinkering, trying out new ideas and technologies in order to more effectively do the work at hand. He had a personality and energy that was almost impossible to ignore, and we are all poorer for his absence”.

There is discussion around possible fundraising needs for his family and to support his mother in attending the funeral.  As information becomes available we will update this site.

Pagan Newswire Collective Bay Area would like to send blessings and stregnth to Dave’s family and loved ones during this time.  We would also like to give a special thank you to Dave for his memories, sharing his vision and being a voice of the young Pagan movement in media.  May your transition be smooth to your next journey; We salute.
